BUSY WEEK! DC, Frankfurt and Heidelberg, Strasbourg, and now Saarbrucken!

I have been remiss in updating the blog with all the Goethe-Institut TOP activities, but I have good (and one not so good) reasons...

The TOP folks keep the Fellows engaged in meaningful school visits, cultural activities, and sightseeing...the not so good reason was a case of the grippe that followed me from DC...nothing that a visit to the local ER can't manage...

We are in Saarbrucken for three days, and this is the first free evening that I have had to post observations and photos...

Washington DC orientation for the TOP Fellows in Groups 4 & 5...we shall again meet in Berlin!

Klaus, Wood and Sarah arranged dynamic groups of dedicated teachers who are enthusiastic and excited about the study tour.

After two days of getting to know each other and to better understand the Goethe-Institut and the Transatlantic Outreach Program's goals, we left DC for Frankfurt, Germany...I was able to sleep during the flight, had to, felt crummy...

It was wonderful to watch the eyes and smiles of the teachers as we arrived and transferred to the Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof...several of the educators had not yet traveled to Europe or Germany, so it was a treat to see the excited faces and hear their voices...
Frankfurt train station led us to...

HEIDELBERG!  Be sure to click on a photo to enlarge it!

Heidelberg, what a joy to return to one of my favorite Germany towns...amazing landscapes, history, culture, and good food!

Our first mea in Heidelberg was at Cafe Rossi, and the teachers tucked right in to enjoy the fame of Germany food and beverages.
